Double Feature Mirror
There is nothing more interesting to your children than, well, themselves.
Your little Narcissus won't grow out of this stage for a long, long time.
Child development experts tell us that infants really think they're
looking at other children in the mirror, but parents know the truth: Our
kids are all so beautiful, they're bound to be vain! In any case, a mirror
is a handy toy to have around--providing it's won't break and is
baby-proof, of course. This super development toy fits the bill. One side
features an unbreakable, hard-coated, polycarbonate mirror that will
absorb your little one for hours. The other side includes developmentally
appropriate black-and-white graphics that tell a weird little story: A
sailboat floats on a wavy sea under a bright sun while seagulls fly
overhead. Under the water, a giant fish blows bubbles, while a man's face
appears in an oversized scuba contraption. Do little ones really following
the thematic thread here? We don't know, but they sure seem intrigued. Two
holes on all four corners of the toy allow you to hang it on the wall or
thread it to the side of a crib.

Fascination Station
Spin, flip and twirl this versatile two-in-one teether and rattle toy. The
textures, sounds and colors will keep baby entertained and stimulated. It
attaches to a flat surface with a suction cup or you can remove the base
and it becomes a cheerful hand-held toy.
Awsome Activity Table!

When babies learn how to pull themselves up and stand, they
certainly don't want to play sitting down anymore. This sturdy table is
strong enough to support babies as they pull themselves up to play with a
whole range of spinning, squeaking tabletop activities. A baby-safe mirror
shows babies their mystifying reflection, and a dial spins easily to
propel rainbow-colored spheres around the loops and swirls. The other side
of the tabletop has a special building block surface for stacking and
building with six single, six double, and two character blocks. The blocks
are decorated with apples, gingerbread men, sailboats, and more. Kids can
build to match the pictures or the colors. And when kids drop the pieces
down the chute at the side of the table, they can find the pieces again in
a storage space under the table. The legs of the table can be removed for
sit-down play and stored inside the table.

Lego's Three In One
This colorful toy is three times the fun. Easy for
babies to hold, it squeaks, rattles, and stacks. LEGO PRIMO's safe,
rounded, oversized blocks stack easily and are safe for baby. They
help baby have fun while developing basic motor skills. |

Little Smart Nursery Rhyme Land
Little ones can visit this land of nursery rhymes and
play eight fun, game-oriented activities that teach about letters,
vocabulary, numbers, and more. Children develop motor skills while
playing with the spinning roller, turning wheel, bouncing rabbit, and
other buttons. Visitors to this land can enjoy 16 cheerful melodies,
lots of fun sound effects, and the sounds of a child's voice singing
"One, Two, Buckle My Shoe." Four bright lights add to the
fun and flash along with the music. In the spirit of classic nursery
rhymes, all of the themes and activities are based on rhymes. Now
Little Boy Blue has something to blow his horn about. Volume control
switch lets parents set the noise level and auto shut-off feature
preserves batteries.

What conditions might prevent me from exercising while pregnant?
Sometimes exercise during pregnancy is strictly forbidden to protect the
health of the mother, the baby, or both. Check with your healthcare
provider before starting, continuing, or changing an exercise regimen. If
you have any of following conditions, you'll probably be advised not to
exercise for the duration of your pregnancy.
• Pregnancy-induced
hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Preterm rupture of membranes
• Preterm labor, now or during a prior
pregnancy
• Incompetent cervix
• Persistent second- or third-trimester vaginal bleeding
• Intrauterine growth retardation
• Heart disease
Be sure to determine from your healthcare
provider exactly what type of activity is forbidden. You may still be able
to do some limited exercises, such as routines to strengthen your arms and
back.
Are there warning signs that mean I should stop exercising?
If you have any of the following symptoms while exercising, stop
immediately and contact your doctor or midwife
• Pain
• Dizziness
• Shortness of breath
• Feeling faint
• Vaginal bleeding
• Difficulty walking
• Back or pelvic pain
• Contractions
• Unusual absence of fetal movements (But bear in mind that
the baby is often most quiet when you're exercising.)
You should also discontinue your exercise
program and contact your healthcare provider if you have a rapid heartbeat
while resting.

So many books to choose
from! Here's what I have personally read and recommend to expecting parents and new
or once-again Moms! |
|
Breastfeeding is once again "all the
rage" and definitely the best for your baby. Of course, it is not for
everyone, but here is the place to get all the answers! I wasn't really fond
of their book because it seemed to "press" breastfeeding on you
and make you feel guilty, but their ideals are sound and if you need support
it's not more than a phone call away!
